#HowWeHeal: Chicago
Chicago, Illinois, is one of the places working on Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation with support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. In order to overcome the city’s history of segregation, honor the legacy of community organizing and connect those who pour energy into community well-being and racial justice each day, they have come together and across sectors to work on racial healing. When there is space to honestly discuss and acknowledge the wounds of the past and how they continue to affect the community, that’s when racial healing can happen. Participation from every front is crucial to the healing process because everyone has a story to tell and a role to play in the city’s transformation.
