The Carbondale “At the Table” Dinner & Dialogue Series kicks off on January 16th in recognition of the National Day of Racial Healing and will continue once a month through June on the third Tuesday of the month at the Civic Center. This series will bring difficult topics surrounding racial healing to the table through facilitated conversations. Intersections of topics ranging from culture, racism, history, and healing will provide opportunities for a diverse group of community members to engage in dialogue while enjoying a community meal. The City of Carbondale, the Southern Illinois Collaborative Kitchen, and the Carbondale branch of the NAACP will work together to promote racial healing.

The employees of the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh are bringing together their Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) Coalitions to have a conversation about how the museums can be a place of increased racial equity and justice. This is an invite only event but will bring together employees from across 4 museums and in a variety of roles. We will be facilitated by VP of IDEA, Gina Winstead as well as Ron Idoko, of ROI Insights.

In celebration of the National Day of Racial Healing, our community members will host this session at the University of San Diego's Nonprofit Institute Governance Symposium. This event will honor the social impact stories of the courageous nonprofit professionals of color who show up for our this work, hearts ablaze, every day.

The National Day of Racial Healing is a time to contemplate our shared values and create the blueprint together for #HowWeHeal from the effects of racism. Launched on Jan. 17, 2017, it is an opportunity to bring ALL people together in their common humanity and inspire collective action to create a more just and equitable world. This annual observance is hosted by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation (WKKF) and was created with and builds on the work and learnings of the Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation (TRHT) community partners. Fundamental to this day is a clear understanding that racial healing is at the core of racial equity. This day is observed every year on the Tuesday following Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

All events will be in person at the Nationwide and Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center and streaming via Zoom. You are registering for the afternoon events.

to create an experience where every voice has space and every story is sacred. Guests leave our events inspired to take positive action in their communities, workplaces, and their homes.
