Hosted By: Prince George's County Memorial Library System
Explore the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and engage in interactive sessions about his impact on history, politics, the arts, social change and racial healing. To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Maryland Governor Wes Moore stated, “Studying history isn’t just about knowing what happened in the past. It’s about knowing our power in the present.” Teach-in participants are welcome to register to attend one or all five interactive sessions, which will explore these topics in the context of Dr. King’s legacy and impact on participants' own lives. Let's learn from each other and study where we as a nation have been, where we are today and where we need to be in the future to advocate for social justice.
